Emu Park

The picturesque town of Emu Park is lined with pristine beaches and undulating coastline that overlooks the beautiful 19 Keppel Islands, located 686 km north of Brisbane and 45 km north-east of Rockhampton.

Emu Park is steeped with rich aboriginal history due to the vast resources found on the land and abundance of marine life accredited to the many scattered reefs and islands that dot the region’s coastline. It was some time after Captain Cook renamed the area and the islands in 1770, when the wonders of Emu Park was re-discovered by Europeans, to evolve into the friendly, safe, peaceful, vibrant & tranquil haven by the sea where everyone is warmly welcomed.

Today Emu Park has a unique community comprising of around 4,000 residents, some of which can be traced as direct descendants to the founding families, all of whom are proud of their little slice of paradise. It is an environment where it is common to see children freely and safely playing outside, where people take a morning or evening stroll along the beach, the weather remains relatively constant in temperature and the beaches are safe to swim.
